World Series

Tonight is the night that all baseball fans wait a year for. Tonight is the start of the world series featuring the Colorado Rockies and the Boston Redsox. Both teams have amazing stories about there past. The Colorado Rockies are entering this years World Series for the first time in their twelve year existance. Boston on the other hand enter this World Series by coming back from a 3 to 1 deficet over the Cleavland Indians. Many people that are not big baseball fans dont understand just how difficult it is to overcome such a large defict. Also what makes this so amazing for Boston is that in 2004 they became the first team ever to overcome the biggest defict ever in MLB history by coming back and winning the ALCS series over the New York Yankees trailng three games to zero.
This World Series has alot to talk about as well, with many records in position to be broken. The Rockies have won 20 of there last 21 games including games leading up to the post season. This is one of the longest winning streaks ever by any baseball team and to say that the Rockies did this with the pressure that they were under makes it that much more incredible. They won 13 of there last 14 games of the season including a one game playoff game that eventually put them in the playoffs and filling in the last position available for the playoffs. They have won every game so far in the 2007 playoffs and are on pace to sweep the playoffs and win the World Series. Yet after this incredible run they are still considered underdogs and are predicted to lose. What makes this World Series so huge for Boston is that if they win this series this will be there second World Series championship in the past two years after being the team with the second longest drought without a ring in the MLB. So when you flipping around on TV and u come across the baseball game now you will understand why this game is so popular and what exactly is at stake. I am able to relate to what you are saying about the world series and it being such a great sporting event. I have been fortunet to be able to attend a world series game. It was by far on of the coolest sporting events I have ever been to. I was able to take a vacation this spring out to Boston and one of the thing that i did on the vacation was go to Fenway park. It is by far the coolest stadium that I have ever been to and it also has the best atmistpher to wathch a baseball game. The fans are always in to the game and they dont miss a thing.

I think that the World Series can be even considered like a holiday for the U.S. I think Boston is totally going to win it though. Even though the Rockies have been on fire and have swept the last two teams they have played, I think the Sox have all the talent to beat the Rockies (or even sweep them). Even though the next couple of games Boston can't use their DH and they are probably not going to use Ortiz in the field, I still think everyone else has done a good enough job hitting to put up the runs they need. With players like Manny Ramirez and Kevin Youkilis they got a good chance to out hit the Rockies. I pick Boston to win the series.
